The Headingley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome three new members. Joining the Chamber over the summer months were Bill McGarry of Waterside Development, Matt Krentz and Jeff Krishka of KrenKa Construction and Rita Tully, CPA.
The first Chamber luncheon of the fall was held on September 18th where 38 people were treated to a delicious lunch at The Gates on Roblin. The Chamber business that was profiled was WinSAFE Consulting. Owner Fred Barnes discussed why it is necessary for businesses to have a workplace safety & health system in place and how to protect your business. He explained the six steps needed to ensure that due diligence has been followed. For more information on WPS&H concerns, Fred can be contacted at winsafeconsulting@outlook.com
Jane Helbrecht, partner with Acuity HR Solutions, spoke about building and maintaining a strong workplace culture. She discussed all of the various methods currently being used by companies to increase engagement that are not working. Jane said, “The one thing that will make a difference is “people leaders”. It’s necessary to invest in your leaders so they can lead employees. Your employees will get engaged if there is good management. Don’t manage people – lead them. Managing gets compliance; leadership gets commitment.”
