The Headingley Chamber of Commerce has always held a strong belief that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.

Beginning in 1996, the Chamber launched its LEADERS OF TOMORROW scholarship program, offered scholarships to students graduating from high school.  From 1996 to 2005 the scholarships were offered to students from the Headingley area.  From 2014 to 2018 Westwood Collegiate, Silver Heights Collegiate and John Taylor Collegiate each selected one student to receive the 3 scholarships.

In 2019, the scholarship qualification criteria was changed. Eligible students are now required to complete an application form,  and provide all of the requested documentation.   The scholarships were also made available to any graduating student who is a resident of the RM of Headingley OR who is a direct family member of any Chamber of Commerce business member or employee of said business.

A Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of board members of the Headingley Chamber of Commerce, reviews each of  the applications received and selects a maximum of 3 recipients.

In 1996 the first scholarships were awarded to two students in the amount of $150 each.
